It was in October 2002 in Calgary that I came around to visit with Angela and Clive Sykes (Rowanridge Cattery) and to see what they had brought with them to the show. They had an absolutely stunning litter of kittens. They told me that they were looking for someone who wanted to show a black male cat and possibly use him for breeding. Well I only needed to look at this kitten and hold him once to know that we were meant to be together. I will be forever grateful to Angela and Clive for entrusting me with Bearwalker. He is a stunning black Maine Coon and he has a wonderful affectionate disposition to go along with his gorgeous looks. He would become the first breeding cat in my cattery, the corner stone. He is the first cat of Angela and Clive’s breeding to be a supreme grand champion and a regional winner. I would like to thank Alice Rhea for awarding him a Best Allbreed Cat ribbon and supreming him at the June 2003 Garden City Cat Club show in Victoria, BC. Pam Barrett also gave him a Best Long Hair Cat Ribbon the next day at the same show.

Bearwalker comes from much older bloodlines than most cats in the NW Region of TICA. I must also thank the hard work and long experience of the breeders who are responsible for bringing Bearwalker’s parents into this world. Thank you to Alma and Ken Shindler of Hillside and to Barbara Ray of Willowplace. Bearwalker is a very special cat because of the years you have spent developing and working with your lines.

Bearwalker has now retired from the show ring and is now living the good life siring litters of beautiful kittens and lounging around the house.
