This questionnaire is one aspect of the process of evaluating potential homes for a PurRydeRoc kitten or cat. Please provide detailed answers particularly about yourselves, the living arrangements that you would be providing to a PurRydeRoc kitten or cat, and how he/she would be raised and treated as a member of your family. Please provide detailed information about past and present cats and other pets that have been or currently are members of your family. This will aid us in placing a kitten of suitable temperament in your home. Our cats and kittens are not a commodity to us. They have been raised to become members of your family, even those that will become show cats or part of a breeding program. Completing this questionnaire will go a long way to having your request for a kitten or cat considered seriously thus adding your name to the short list of future PurRydeRoc Maine Coon owners.

3. Have you ever owned a cat before?  (if so, how long and what happened to the cat)

4. Why are you interested in a Maine Coon kitten or cat? Would you like a kitten, retired breeder, or a potential show cat?

5. When were you hoping to get a cat?

6. Would you prefer a male or a female or does the sex of the cat not make a difference?

Would you accept a cat that is different from the sex that you requested if that was all that was available at the time kittens are available?

7. What colour/pattern cat were you interested in? Would you accept a different colour/pattern?

8. List in order of preference the characteristics most important to you in the kitten or cat you hope to receive: colour & pattern, personality, sex.

9. Describe the personality and activity level that you would expect from a Maine Coon.

10. List all persons residing in your home, their age and occupation (if applicable).

11. Is the cat to be a pet for you or a gift for someone else?

12. How much time would the cat spend alone each day?

13. Where would the cat spend its day? Where would it spend its night?

14. Who would be the primary caretaker of the cat?

16. Do you plan on starting a family in the future? If so how will a cat fit into these plans?

17. Does anyone in your home suffer from asthma or allergies? What affect will having a cat or kitten have on their asthma and/or allergies?

18. Does anyone in your house have a compromised immune system?

19. Do you currently have a veterinarian? Would your veterinarian provide PurRydeRoc with a reference?

20. How much do you expect to spend on veterinary services each year for a new pet? Do you have pet insurance?

26. If you rent, will your landlord allow pets?  Would your landlord provide a letter stating that he/she allows pets?

27. If you belong to a home or condominium association, does your association allow pets?

28. Does your home have screens on all doors and windows?  If not, how do you ventilate your home during the warm, summer months while still keeping the cat secure inside?

29. Do you plan on moving in the next year or in the near future?

PurRydeRoc Maine Coons cannot guarantee a cat/kitten to everyone that fills out and responds to this questionnaire. We only have a few litters of kittens per year. The intent of this questionnaire is solely to determine if you would provide a loving home environment for a cat or kitten with adequate care and medical support should one be made available to you.
